'Team
King' volunteers on Habitat for Humanity
project
Thursday, December
1, 2005
Led by owners Valerie and Victoria
King, Team King Jewelers joined South Shore Habitat for Humanity to
complete the Women build project in Brockton last Monday, Nov. 21.
King Jewelers Inc. is an independent jeweler owned and operated
entirely by women.
"We
have been so fortunate this year as we have achieved the dream of
having a new home for our business," noted Val King, company
treasurer. "We are eager to find real ways to share our blessings
with others. Everyone needs a place to call 'home.' Habitat for
Humanity has always done such extraordinary work; we thought it was
a great match for our skills as well as our sentiments," King added.
"Helping with a home being built entirely by women only makes it
that much more meaningful."
The
Kings assembled a team of employees, colleagues and customers to
join them on the designated construction day. Among the members of
Team King Jewelers will be the contractor who directed construction
of the new jewelry store complex on 3A. "My contractor is thrilled
to participate," commented King. "Actually, every single person we
have invited has been honored to join us. It is amazing how much
goodwill exists in our midst; it only takes a bit of effort and an
invitation to find it."
Other
support from King Jewelers comes from a bracelet called Home Sweet
Home. Available exclusively at King Jewelers and created by
ekdesigns, the bracelet is sterling silver with red and white
Swarovski crystals and features a single charm depicting a house. A
portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Home Sweet Home
bracelet will go to the Women build project.
King
Jewelers Inc is an independent jeweler serving the community since
1921. For more information visit: www.kingjewelersinc.com.
